Abstract:
The present investigation VJas pe:::-formed to reveal the relationship between sex hormones and some anti-biotics against Coryne.pyogenes infection in mice. Groups of mature gonadectomised male and femalemice were artificially infected by subcutaneous injection of pure strain of Coryne.pyogenes in a dose of 0.1 ml containing 75 X 106 microorganism/mouse. The response of these infected mice (in groups of 10 animals each) to various sex hormones and anti-biotics was investigated in the following order:- - Three groups of mice were injected with estrogen,progesterone or testosterone for three successive days before and up to three days after infection. - Six groups of both sexes of mice Viere treetedwith Lincomycin, Cephaloridine or Rifamycin for three successive days after infection. - Nine groups of animals were subjected to coadmini-stration of sex hormones and antibiotics.
