Some Biological Studies on Cattle Babesiosis In The Suez Canal Zone

Abstract:
In the present investigation, the infection rate of cattle with Babesia species recorded to be 25.50% and27.77% showing 25 - 30/1000 R.B.Cs. and 10 - 15/1000 R. B.Cs. at Port-Said and Ismailia Governorates respectivelyThe higher incidence of Babesia infected cattle at Port-Said and Ismailia Governorates was observed during the Summer season reaching 32.92% and 80.0% showing theirhighest peak of infection in August (37.20%)and (40.0%) respectively this was followed by’ those examined duringthe Autumn and Spring seasons reaching 30.70% and 30.48% at Port-Said district as well as 30.70% and 30.0% atIsmailia Governorate. On the other hand, the lowest peak of infected cattle with Babesia species was noticed during ~nter in both Governorates as 11.86% and 13.04% of theexamined animals were in£ected respectively.
