Rinderpest is one of the serious disease of cattle, rapid efficie~ laboratory diagnosis of the disease is one of paramount requisite, the present study was conducted for diag-nosis of cattle plRcue in experimentally infected calves byisolation of virus using differeht cell culture systems, dem- oostration of virus antigens in different infected tissues, and dwelopment of rinderpest specific antibodies by the conventionalmethods with some modification of the technique, besides the asse- s~ent of infective virus, and viral antigen distribution in diff- Rent infected tissues. The experiment was carried out on 20 susceptible calves (10 ative and 10 mixed Freizian calves) inoculated SUbcutaneouslly i~ laboratorY-Virulent-rinderpest_strain, the animals werex~ined for clinical manifestation and postmortom lesions, eriodicp,l samples were collected from living infected animalsncluding buffy coat and biobsy from. prescapular lymPh-node. At,he 7th-D.P.1. the animals eIther died or slaughtered and organsRe collectRd for virus isolation and detection of virus antigens.
