Abstract:
Three hundred and sixteen fungal ’ isolates could be recovered from 102 different poultry feeds collectedfrom various poultry from to study the disease problems resulting frOIL!. mycotoxins in poultry. The isolatesbelonged to the following genera; Aspergillus(41.1 percent), Penicillium (25 percent), Rhizopus(17.7 percent),Fusarium(4.7 percent), MUcor (3.8 percent), Oephalos- porium (2.5 percent), Ol~dosporium (2.5 percent), Absidia (1.9 percent), Trichoderma (0.3 percent) and Stimphylium (0.3 percent).Examination of extracts of these feed samples by thin ’layer chromatography (Tl.C,)) revealed the presenceof aflatoxin Bl in 25 (24.5 percent), out of them.
