Abstract:
Outer and inner surfaces of slaughtered and dressed cattleand buffaloes carcases were examined for viral contaminationusing steril plastic swabs. For this aim; 18 swabs from beefand 13 from buffaloes .carcases were taken and subjected toviral isolation on chicken embryo-fibroplast + Hamister kidney(CER) cells resulted in recovery of 15 viral isolates.Ten isolates were identified according to the high titreand more than one precipitating band resulted in ComplementFixation (CF) test and Agar Gel Precipitation (AGP) testrespectively.Using polyvalent antisera against adenoviruses andenteroviruses and hyper immune sera against bovine viral diarrhea(BVD) virus revealed in the identification of 2 agents relatedto adeno, group of viruses 2 agents to entero, group of viruses,one agent to bovine viral diarrhea (BVD) virus and 5 agentscould not be identified and considered as mixed viruses due totheir multiple reactions. All isolates showed weak haemaggluti-nation activity with chicken, rat, nice erythrocytes except onelassified into five groupS,while those of pork ~ere
