Abstract:
In this work, the physical and chemical properties 6 local strains of P. multocida ( 6: B, 6:E, 8:A 11, 8: A IV,5:A and 2: D) as well as Clemson University (CU) strain of f. multocida were studied. All the tested P. multocida strains were similar in their morphological characters.- E. multocida strains used were tested for their growth in fluid media. All strains wshowed completely the 88me behaviours and the variable results was obtained from indole production, action on litmus milk and nitrate reduction test. All tested strRins showed similarresults as regards to the fermentation reactions to sugars, but some strains of P.multocida used revealed variation in their action on mannitol, arabionse, trehalose and dulcitol.
