Abstract:
The examined 10 laboratory lyophilised strains of Cl. oedernatiens were differentiated into types A and B(5 strains from each type) and were isolated from faecal, dwelling and liver samples of sheep. They were tested for their ability to produce some soluble antigens ashaemagglutinins, haemolysin, lecithinase, lipase, lethaltoxins and hyaluronidase and de\:.e.;r··HI.’I’lethe different factors affecting their production.Concerning the haemagglutinins production , it wasfound that all strains produced the maximum levels in 48- 72 hours old whole culture of freshly prepared cooked meat broth and dithiotheritol sheep blood agar. Also it wasfound that the strains of type B produced comparatiTely higher levels of haemagglutinins (1/16 - 1/128) than that of type A ( 1/8 - 1/32). Moreover, the freshly isolated strains,after3passage in guinea-pigs,showed lower levels of haemagglutinin in compari
