Abstract:
The information on campylobacteriosis and its course in buf’f a.Loe s is not well understood. During the course ofsome earlier studies a mutant strain was isolated. from aborted foeti for the first time in Egypt. The presentst”udy is the logical continuation of these studies and is a practical attempt to clarify the course of thedisease and its pathological features in this species.Five sexually mature and healthy virgin heifers and one buffalo bull were used in the present study. The an.lmo.Ls were synchr-ont.z ed using prostaglandin analogue (Lutalyse, Upjohn Company). The double dosesystem with 11 days interval was followed and animals were inseminated with artifici~n~”.,!nfected semen 72hours after the last injection. Each animal received 2 ml of infected buffalo bull semen. The animals werereinseminated 24 hours later. The bull was allowed with the heifers for the detection of heat ..• Animals were keptunder close observation and assigned for slaughter independently at intervals of 21 days. For histopatholo-gical and histochemical studies, specimens were taken
