Some studies on epizootic lymphangitis in horses with special references to diagnosis and treatment

Abstract:
In this study, 50 diseased horses with equinehistoplasmosis confirmed by fungus isolation were subjected to careful clinical observation. The horses under observation were showed different lesions allover the animal body (Typical corded lymphangitis t nodular lesions without involvement of lymphatics, con- junctivitis and nasal lesions). The parasitic phase, yeast phase, of Histoplasma farciminosumwas demonstrated microscopically in films prepared frohorses without previous history of the disease. These sera were tested against three antigens, Histoplasmafarciminosuw antigens (histoplasmin and alcohol-ether extract) and Histoplasma capsulatuw histoplasmin. Histoplasma farciminosuw histoplasmin was fousensitive than the others.The results indicated that there are two seperate antibodies are exist and conce-quentely the culture filtrate of Histoplsma farcimino- ~ (histoplasmin) contain a minimum of two different
