Abstract:
The present study was carried out to study the incidence of babesiosis among riding horses in Acad- emic Police Farm, studies on treatment of babesiosis inrected cases, as well as studies on vaccination ofdonkeys by egu! killed vaccine.- study on incidence of babesiosis was carried out on 203 horses of dirferent ages by using blood films examination, Agar gel precipitation (G.P.) andpassive haemagglutination (PRA) tests. The results obtained were 22.17%, 59.61% and 6).55% respectively,and the titer of agglutinating antibodies ranged bet- ween 1:4 - 1:256. The incidence of babesiosis in foals (1-) yearsold) was 27.91%, 25.58% and 5).49% b,y blood films examination, G.P. and PRA tests respectively, and thetiter of agglutinating antibodies ranged between 1:4- 1:64. The incidence was higher in male t’oa Ls thanin female foals. In adults horses (more than) years up to 12 years old) the incidence of babesiosis was 20.63%,68.75% and 66.25% as recorded by blood films exarnin-
