Abstract:
The present stlldy was carried out on 284 limbs obtained from the slaughter house of the Zoo in Gizaand 109 alive donkeys at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University and Brooke’s Hospitalfor animals • The specimens were subjected to anatomical studyof the blood supply of the navicular bone , the navicularbursa and its relation to the palmar pouch of the coffin joint, autopsy examination and contact X-ray films ofthe navicular bone and median section of the navicular bone to calculate its normal area and the resultssummarized as follows :Navicular bone of donkey received its blood supply from 3 sources •There was no direct communication of the navicular bursa and the palmar pouch of the coffin joint •
