Virological And Immunological Studies On Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus

Bovine viral diarrhea virus is a major pathogen of cattle. The cellular and the biologicalimmunology response to the virus is the main subject addressed in this work. This study wasproposed to accomplish the following aims:I- Determine the replication, pathogenesis, of BVDV types in the camelid cell lines ascompared to bovine cells.1- Determine the biological cell mediated immune response with:A- Cytotoxicity assay:- Development of a technique to analyze and evaluate the in vitro cytotoxic activity of bovine~BMCs against BVDV-infected autologous bovine dermal fibroblast target cells.Evaluation of possible generation of B VDV -specific, bovine cytotoxic T _ Iymphocytes.
