Abstract:
Investigations were carried out to compare the effect of different methods of treating hatching eggs before setting and durin incubation.700 ef,gs obtained from disease-free flock were used in this work.Dry cleaning of soiled eg~s with wire wool is recommended as it proved to be the method giving the hicr,hest hatchability percentar:;e.Moist treatment by using detergents, disinfectants or antibiotics cannot be recommended as a successful means £ortreatment of eg”,s prior to incubation.Fu~igation of eggs prior to incubation for 10 minutes is a satisfactory and successful means for controlling contamination durin incubation.Combined treatment by usinr; wire wool and fumigation for 10 minutes is highly recommended as a reliable method for treat- ment of e~gs prior to incubation’I’he Lnve s t i.na b.i.on showed tha.t the most predominant isolates .were oavu l.aae positive .
