Abstract:
The apparently healthy carcasses of 150 calves slaughtered at Cairo, Giza and Embaba abattoirs- vtc :« exanined for the study of Enterobacteriaceae present in the alimentary tract For this reason semples were taken from the Dcsenteric lymph nodes, gall bl18.62%, 15%, 9~25%, 8.87%, 5.37%, 4~5%, 1~5%~ and 0.87% respectivelyOf the 150 calves examined, 9 (6%) revealed Salmonellae. It could be isolated from the mesenteric lymph nodes of all the affected nine calvcs while it could only be isolated from the gall bladders of three of them and none froD their faecal swabs~ Salmone
