Abstract:
Ovaries from 91 mature, non-pregnant drome- daries were used in this study. The ovary is relatively smaller, compressed from side and is roughly rounded or bean-shap i in the rest-ing phase and rounded or irrigular in outline during activi ty.Shallow irrigular grooves which do not reach the medullary region were observed on the ovarian surfaces. Both ovaries are almost equal in size; their length, width, thickness and weight in the resting and activephase were recorded in tables. In active ovaries, numerous follicles in different stages of development Were distributed all over the oVariansurfaces and not inf’requently one Graafian follicle was found to be much larger than the rest. The largest folli-cular diameter obtained was 1.8 cm.Corpora lutea were seen in ovaries of’ non-pregnant animals.
