Abstract:
The studs’ of the morphology of the major savaryand buccal glands of the camel, was carried out on twelve’heads of normal adults subjects and 30 sepeate parotid and mandibular glands •The micro-morphology and histocheG.istry was conduc t ec.on specimens taken from 15 norillal adult animals.A brie.f review oi,the auailable literatures on thsalivary glands of the camel was cited within the text. The gross anat.ouy , blood and nerve SUPply of the glandswas studied in detail. ’The intraglandular portion of the parotid and mandlax duets was examinedThe major salivary glands and buccal glands are of the tubuko-acinar type.On the histological and histochemical bases, it vmsfound that -the secretory tubules ”1Y}d acini of the parotidgland of the camel are seromucoid in nature. The secretoren Pieces show themselves into three different formsaccording to the different phases of their secretory cycle.
