Abstract:
1) A total of 460 horses were examined as to soundness(235 draught, 194 riding, i6 race, and 15 ’jumpers) •They were chosen from different aggrigations so as torepresent the Egyptian horses.e2) In draught horses, the percentages of the differentforms of unsoundness were :1- EYe affections : 6.81%2- Teeth affections : 3.83%3- Withers : 11.92%4- Lungs : 2.98%5- Hernias : 1.328%6- Male genitalia : 28.2657- Udder : 3.7058- Fore-limbs : 71.91%9- Fore-feet : 37.03%10- Hind-limbs : 70.99%11- Hind - feet : 25.11%.12- Vices : 20.42%(3) In riding horses, the percentagesof the different forms of unsoundness were1- Eye affections •1.55%2- Teeth affections•1.55%J- Withers • 5.16%,.4- Lungs• 2.06%•5- Hernias • 1.03%..6- Male genitalia• 5.55%..7- Udder • 1.16%•8- Fore-limba • 55.16%•
