Comparative investigations of both synthetic and natural superior diluents were carried out in two experi-ments. Twelve . synthetic diluents, each containin~ egg yolk-nonelectrolyte and buffer were included in one experimentin orde:;:-t;o trace the comparative efficiency of each spec if’Lcdiluent J.’C’:2 preserving the viability of buffalo spermatozoastored lJ:.lc.er refrigeration condi tri.on.s The results of this experiment indicate that the eggyolk-glucose-sodium bicarbonate diluent led to the highest viability of cuffalo sperm cells~ followed by egg yolk~glucose-sodium citrate, egg yolk-fructose-sodium bicarbonateand egg yolk-fructose -sodium citrate diluents.
