Direct and indirect effects of normal and irradiated migrating biological material on the reproductive function in albino Rats

Abstract:
One hundered and ninety six of both male andfemale albino rats weighing from 110 - 230 gms; were used.In experiment 1, the following results wereobtained: On tbe 6th day after the infection of 40 malerats witb norli1al and Cobalt-50 irradiated Heoascaris~itulorumova it was recorded tbat:1- The live body weight gain of rats increased (non-•significant) by the exposure of Neo~scaris v:ituloru.,Eova to 50,000 and 100tOOO rad-Co-60 before its infe-ction than in case of infection with normal ova.2 - The number of Heoas9aris -:vi ~lorumlarvae recoveredfrom the ratst lungs were decreased in rats infectedwith N. vitul,orlli1l ova exposed to 50,000 and 100,000rad-Co-60 than in tbe challenge ones infected withnormal N. vitu~oru~ ova.3 - It was not possible to revover larvae of . vitu~o from the rats’ testes infected with either normalor irradiated Neoascaris vitu~orumeggs.
