Effect of some drugs on milk production in farm animals

Abstract:
In this work, effects of thiabfmdazole, chlorpro- mazine HOl and reserpine on milk yield and components, blood picture’, liver and Kidney functions were invest- before, during and after administration in lact- Priesian cows each of 3-5 years old and 420 Kbody weight. Results can be summarized as follows: 1- Thiabendazole:Thiabendazole was given orally to 26 lac¥tating I Friesian cows at a dose of 100 mg /Kg. Then faecal, milk,blood and serum samples were c 011ec ted for analysis. The parasitological examination before and after~reatmGnt revealed that the animals were free f’z-orn gastro parasites. and components: ’r-be daily milk yield of the empiloyed cows was recorded in kilograms daily over a period of 15 days before end after thiabendazole.ThitOendazole induc ed a signifj can t increase (P.( 0.05) i!t the milk yield. Chefflical analysis of milk samples reveal- dasignificant increase (pLo.05) in both fat and ash rcentages end a significant decrease (P~ 0.01) in bothcase::”n po rc en t.age s ,On the other hand, lactose, total protein and total remained at the st:ime levels before .
