Milk samples were collected from 731 Friesian suffering from clinical and subclinical mastitis. While the isolation rate of mycoplasma was higher animals with clinical mastitis (59.65%), it was foundbe lower in subclinical cows (14.06%).2. On genus determination, the incidence of genus Mycoplasma was higher in clinical mastitic cows (92.57%), of genus Acholeplasma was only isolated from cases (7.43%).3. The mycoplasma strains iso~ated from cow mastitis were identified as M. bovis and ~. bovigenitalium.~. bovigenitaliumwas also identified from vagina of mas-titic cows and prepuce of bulls in herd 2. 4. Acholeplasma laidlawii was identified from milk, nose and vagina of subclinical mastitic cows. 5. M. bovigenitalium was recovered from udder and of dead and slaughtered animals of herd No. 2.6. In comparison of the different serological tests, counter immunoelectrophoresis test gave the best re- sults for identification of mycoplasma isolated from cowmast i tis mi lk. 7. A mixed infection with mycoplasma and bacteria mastitic eows was detected.
