Some morpho-biological studies on trypanosoma evansi in Laboratory and some domesticated animals

Abstract:
Tbe strain of TrYEanosoma evansi was obtained, from two naturally infected camels, belonging to Ein Sbams Police Station and bhe main Coast Guard Centreat Gabal-Asfar. Blood Smears were positive in one camel wbile tbe otber proved to be positive aftermice inoculation. 11- Blood from tbe infected oamels were inoculated intomice, tben tbe blood of tbe infected mice were sub- inoculated into dogs and donkeys. 111- Tbe morpbology of tbe T. evansi in camel and tbeexperimented animals were discussed as tbe following: 1- T. evansi of camel was 19.80 X 1.35 u wbile incase ef donkey, dogs and mice were 19.14 X 1.90, ” 21.70 X 2.10 and 19.60 X 1.50 u respectively.Tbree categories among tbe lengtb of trypanosomes were noticed, long, intermediate and sbort.2- Most of Trypanosomes sbowed tbat tbe kinetoplast was located subterminal, bowever in some speci- mens it was terminated or completely absent.3- Tbe waves of tbe undulating membrane ranged from-4 in case of camels. wbile in donkeys and mice were 0.0-5.0 and in dogs was 0 waves.
