Abstract:
This attempt has been made to find out the incidence of Fascioliasis in Behera Province. Examinations were carried. out on 1435 & 881 cows & buffaloes respectively to detemine the incidence of Pascioliasis among those animals.It was found that, the incidence of Fascioliasis in cows was 71.8%, while that of buffaloes was 65.9% . The incidence of Pascioliasis was found to be increased with age. The infestation rate among ma1e buffaloes and cows was less those of female ones.It was evident that, gamma globulin was significantly increased in the serum of Pasciola infested cows & buffaloes.Passive haemagglutination test gave positive results in 89.6% & 87.3% of cattle & buffaloes respectively & also false negative results in 10.3% & 12.7% of cattle & buffaloes respectively. Also the Passive haemagglutination gave false positive results in 7The complement fixation test gave positive results in 46.8% & 45.4% of cattle & buffaloes respectively & gave false negative results in 53.2% & 36.4% of cattle & buffaloes respectively. It also gave false positive results in 3.9% of cattle.
