Abstract:
Anaesthesia for caesarean section was performed on 60 Egyptian goats of different ages and body weights.Different types of general as well as regional anaesthetics were used •I- GENERAL ANAESTHESIAKetalar.Ketalar in a dose of 11 mg/kg.B.wt. premedicated with Rompun and Atropine sulphate injected intramuscularly,produced a state of general anaesthesie lasting for 58.8 minutes, -and a recumbency of 72 minutes. The goatstolerated well the drugs used and the foeti were extracted alive.When Ketalar injected intramuscularly in a dose of 22 mg/kg.B.wt. without Rompun as a premedication, the anaesthetic period lasted for an average period of 24.4 minutes and recumbency period of 46.2 minutes- Rompun Rornpun proved to be satisfactory for caesarean section in goats. when injected intramusculary in a dose of 0.3mg/kg.B.wt., it produced a state of general.
