Khattara and ~l .• Adllia dairy farms were subjected top~sical, chemical and bacteri~logical examination fordetermination of their hygienic condition.1. The physical examination revealed that the apparantcolor units ranged from 7 to 540 units and )2,5% (28) otexamined water samples having an apparant color unitsexceeding the DBxilI1lm permissi ble limit. The ~otal residue of the examined samples varied trom 300to 4920 mg/L and 12.79% (11) of samples exceeded the mrlmLlmpermissible limit.11. The chemical examination showed the following results:1. pH-value-Varied from 6.J to 8.6 and 77.9% (67) ofexamined samples were satisfied.2. Ammonia concentration in examined samples rangedfrom zero to 2.99 mg/L and 74.41% (64) of the samples exceedthe limit for indication of water pollution (0.5 ~,.1,).3. Nitrites: 85 (98.8)%) out of the 86 samples havingnitrites content within the permissible limit.
