Abstract:
A fulfill study of the life cycle of !.magna was carried out in two separa.te experime.nts. Specific patho-gen Free (SPF) rabbits ~~d a pure strain of!. aagna.,were used.Light and electron microscopes were used to determine the location of the parasite and its des- cription. The first experiment used 22 S.P.F. rabbit, dealt \’Ii th 8. chrono Logf.ca). study of endogene ous life cycle fa!’ 10 days at interval of 16 hours, usd.ng fresh pzepaz-a t Lonof mucosal scraping and histopathological sections ofdifferen t parts of Ln testine (doudenuni, jej unum, ileLlllland coecum.) The penetra.tion of sporozoite to their hostcell was between 4-12 hrs. post-infection. The intl:’8.cel1ul~sporozoi tes could be d:i.fferentiated as two distinct types, one with single large posterior refractile body and thesecond lost this body. The primary eli v.l a Lon was seen at 24 hr , wi th twotypes of Lmtna tur’e schizont, the first was large, sporozoi te-shaped schizont with 3-4 nu.clie and posteriorrefractile body, this type was termed type A.
