Pharmacological studies of someantibiotics and their effect on pyogenic microorganisms in vitro and in vivo

In this experimental work., the pharmaco-dynanu c and toxicological properties of oleandomycin and bacit-racin were studied.. The obtained resul tsare summarized as follows :- Oleandomycin:1.Pharmacological studies : Effects on the smooth muscle preparations iOleanc1omcin produced an inhibitoryintestinal motility in guinea pig ileuim. An inhibitoryeffect on the rat uterine contractions was observed indifferent phases of sex cycles and pregnancy.
