Study On Adrenal- Ov Arian Axis In Poultry Development

This investigation deales with the study of the adrenal avarian axis in ohioken during developmentand egg cyole. 100 turkey hens were purshased from the General ~oultry Organization and from the Collegeof Agriculture, Zagazig University. They were dividedinto groups of different ages. They were cagedLndividually in a lightening schedule of 14 L : 10 D. ~he egg laying pattern was obseryed for 7 days.Blood samples were taken in chilled heparinized tubes, centrifuged in a refrigerating centrifuge at4000 r.p.m. plasma was aspired, refrigerated at -20°0 until the assay. Samples of avaries, adrenal glandsand oviducts were taken immediat1y after slaughtering.The oviduct was divided into the infundibulum, magnum, isthmus, shell gland and vagina. They were frozen at-20°C until the hormonal assay. Radioimmunoassay technique were used by using kits from Radioassay System Laboratories Inc. California.The results could be summarized as follows1.
