Abstract:
A study on blood p Lasma of rabbits for certain organic and inorganic conat Lbuerrt s was undertaken. Alsodifferential leukQcytic count and histopathological studies were revealed. Founy-eight white rabl?it (Boscat) were used, the animals were assigned into two main groups; group A (represent the group receiving single dose of dexamethasone) while group B (remultiple dose of dex~ethasone). General anaesthesia using thiopentone and ketamine hydrochlQri4e w~s dQ~e afterthe ~l.ucocortiooid administra.tion.Blood plasma samples were obtained ati!ternt periods, in a t+ial ~o detect the effect of gluQoco~1ooidsin relation to anaesthesia upon the constitut1on of blood plasma. Specimens from liver, adrenal gland MQ. pancreasof rabbits were o})taiIledforhistopa.thological studies. The re~lts obtain~d were concl~ded a.s follows: A significant increase was notice4 between the levelsot blood sugar before deXaDlethasone treatment, after d.examethaso~treatment, and after onehour or 24 hours of anaesthesi(either thiopentone or etam1neh¥drochlo~id~) in bi90d plaa of rabbit receivin!single dose of de~amethasoe.
