Abstract:
Studies on the ing0stive behaviour of the buffaloduriDg grazing, feeding and cttinking were carried out.(1) The grazing time of the adult buffalo ranges between5-7 hours. The rate ol’ grazin;:; is ;;5-50 per minute.(2)During feeding the rate of jaw movements is 50 - 100 per minute.1)283 broilers from fattening farms showed symptomsof watery diarrhoea, inability to stand with enlarged andinflammed bursa of fabricius, seven Gumboro disease virusstrains were isolated in yoLk sac of embryonated chicken8ggs, and subjeoted to complete identification andcboracf;er. ’zaf;;f on, ’.fo.log:ictd.lT, seroi ag:lc:g IT 8Jff!physi o-chemic ally.2) The pathogenicity of the isolated strain wasperformed on embryonated eggs through seven serialpassages, and showed variable embryonic deaths as well aslesions on embryos as congestion of the whole embryo,abdominal destension and oedema of eyes, neck and livernecrosis.3) Pathogenicity to one day old chiCKS was studiedalso which resulted in no symptoms, but bursal lesionsappeared in post-mortem examination of infected chicks.Also serologically precipitating antibodies were detected.4) 1016 serum samples from different ages showed highpercentage of infection especially in birds aged
