Abstract:
Neurazine (Misr), Cornbelen (Bayer) and Rompun (Bayer) were tried on buffaloes to overcome excitement and fear.Experimental animals were of different weight, age and sex, They were divided into 15 groups according to body weighb. Dosage and clinical signs manifested by the animalswere recorded. The effects of the drugs on body temperature, pulse,respiration and ruminal movements were recorded, The effect of the drugs on the blood constituents as wellas on the liver and kidney funcitions was also studied. Minor sur~ical interventions as well as gynaecological’riT’nnpi~lJT’p.s we re carried out to ascertain the~lue of using such drugs in field practice.from th~ present investigation, it is concluded that thenew sedative, analgesic and muscle relaxant Rompun (Bayer) isthe most suitable drtig to achieve the required and satisfactory~ietness and calmness of buffaloes in Egypt.The most reliable dose rate df this preparation was found~be 0.1 mg/kg b.w. It was also found that Rompun in the mentione{could b~ tolerated. without any side effects. However, it must he avoided in late pr-egnancy,
