Abstract:
1- A total of 1030 pooled f aeoal samples were colleet~Qrin two occasions with an tat ervat of .3 weeks, fromreptiles) birds and ~~ammals.from 98 human attendants. 196 human f.aecal sampleswere collected with the same interval.from the surrounding environment, 15 sampl~s from eachof stagnant water ponds and pools, hD~an sewage driedfae-’. ~cal matter were collected.60 dead cases of birds and 15 of mammals, received invet. Res. Lab~s, were examined bacteriologically forsalmonella.2- Two fluid enrichment media (Se Lerd.be F broth andTetrathionate b~illiant green broth) were used forthe samples examined. MacConkey, salmonella shigellaagar (SS) and Desox;ycholate citrate agar media wereused in this work for isolation of salmonella.3- from 106 pooled faecal reptile samples, 29 salmonellastrains belonged to 1.3 serotypes could be isolated.They were as follows S.tyPhi-muri~ (9), S.vejle (3),S.thompson (2), S.saint-paul (2), S.o,slo (2), S.newport(2), S.glostrup (2), S.kottbus (2), S.weston (1), S.welikadn (1), S.muenster (1), S. giza (1), and S.chailey (1) •
