Abstract:
Sixty apparently healthy mon~rel dogs were usedfor experil.1en-G2.l partial .;aatrectomy. II’hey were observedfor the intended time of the experiment.,Dogs were divided into A, B, C and D ~~oups while1/5, 2/5, 3/5 and 4/5 gastrectomy were carried out res-peotively.All the operated dogs showed bo·th iron-deticlen1anemia and hypochromic anemia. Such anemia manifesteditself after one week. On the other hand the I value ofthe stomach contents was clearly reduced than the no~alvalue.Gaetroradiographic studies were earried out to com- pare between the shape and capacity of the stomach pre andpostoperative. It was found that the size of the remained·portion of the stomach increased 3;raclt.lEtlly by time.’I’he procured survival data for t he operated dogeahowed -bhat the operation could be safely indicated forthe removal of 60% of the atomach.
