Abstract:
Histopathological and histochemical study of bov- ine cutaneous papillomatosis, were carried out on cattle and buffalloes suffering from skin lesions ( warts )~ eit-her spontaneously or experimentally induced by inoculation of bovine papilloma virus suspension~80 out of 800 examined animals ( cattle and buff- aloes ) were suffering from spontaneous skin papillomatosisaLesions were mostly observed on the head and neck of anim- als ranging from 6 months to 2 years of age, while in animals more than 2 years of age, lesions were present mainlyon udder and teats of milking cows.Macroscopically lesions were of different shapes and sizes, the majority of.which were rounded, lobulated, greyish and hairless. L.ess frequently lesions having thetypical cauliflower like appearence were observed. Size varied from the smallest being 0.5 by 0.5 by 1 cm. to the largest being 3 by 4 by 2 cm!Experimentally induced fibropapillomatosis was ob-tained from calves which were inoculated with bovine papi-lloma virus suspens~on, through epidermal scarification
