Abstract:
The origin, course and distribution of the arteries and veins of the thorucic limb of mule were described in details.Thirty five thor~cic limbs of adult mules were examined. Twenty three of which for the arteries and the rest for the veins.The specimens were injected with 10 % formalin solution thenafter with 60 % gum milk latex c o Lour-ed with carmine.The nomenclatures adopted by Nomina Anatomica Veterinaria (1973) were applied.The results obtained were illustrated by six diagrams.These results were discussed with other investigators and the variations which have been observed were cited in the text.Some of these variations are listed in the following :-- The nutrient artery of the scapula arises either from thelateral branch of the circumflex scapular artery to enterthe nutrient foramen which is present ~n the infraspina~usfossa or directly from the subscapular artery and in thiscondition it enters the scapula through the nutrient fo~amenwhich is situated on its caudal border• The proximal radial blood vessels which are found in horse iand donkey are alos p1esent i~ W le and so thes~ are characterstic vessels of Equidae. lij mule the proximal
