Abstract:
Intravenous induction of general anaesthesia. was carrie.d out on 72 sheep and goats of different sex, age and body weight. Nesdonal (specia) premedicated by Neurazine and stropine sulphate, resulted in a surgical anaesthetic stage lasting for an average well as some major surgical operations. -Ketalar (Park Dvis) injected intravenously produced a state of general anaesthesia lasting for 38.3 minutes and 30.8 minutes in sheep and goats respectively. This procedure permitted immediate surgery. When injecteinjected both i.v. and i.m. at a dose of l3;L3 mg./kg.bwt. for sheep and 10 mg./kg.bwt. for goats. Douplication of the dose injected i.m. resulted in an anaesthetic period of 45 rai.nute s in sheep and 25 minutes in goats in average. This
