Abstract:
The present work was oondudted. on 151 livers of buffaloes of different ages and three full term foetuses.These speoimens were treated by various anatomioal techniques to visualise the struotures under investigation. The available pllblications .on the liver of othez- domestic animals were carefu.lly revised. After dissecting the prepared specimens, the obtairesul’cs were classified into five partsl- The first part was concerned with the morphology and topography of the liver. It was found that the liver of the buffalo bears olose resemblance to that of its family mate, the ox, with the exoeption of some diffable vard at Lons from that cited in the ox. The distribution of the portal vein showed a considerable degree of ooinoi- dance wi’th thn;ii of the hepatic artery and bile duotie ,
