Abstract:
fm inverting end--co-e:J.d intestinal anastomosis was perform-ed on 54 clinically healthy dogs at Assiut provinces using tr2~e8different types of sut.ure materials of the S8.I!le size namely ce.•~~gut, nyLon and silk. All operated dogs tollerated well the operat-ions and healing per primum was obtained. Best results were obtained with the use of catgut. This wasmanifested macroscopically by the absence of the stitches sincethe seventh day, as well as the presence of a very small sizedLnv er t ed flange or its complete absence ,30 days postoperative.The mucosa regenerated com.pletely ~ the stitcb.8s »tes:« comp Le t e Lyabsorbed and the inflammatory phenomenon auba Ld ed 15 days follow-ing the operation.GCbd healing hac also been obtained in those animals operat-ed by nylon. This we-s manilested by slight thickening at the seatof anastomosis, absence of stenosis in 50% 0f CaSEG and the escepeJf the sutur e ma t ez-La l towards the Lumen 30 days af t ez- the opeJ.:’s.t-spread of mange in camels. Spread being morerapid in winter than in summer so high incidencewas observed in winter.
