Airborne bacteria of poultry houses in upper Egypt with special reference to the epidemiology of the staphylococci

Abstract:
A sum of 88 samples from the air of poultry houses were takenand examined bacteriologically.The samples were taken as follow1- Outside the house.2- Inside the house (1st. floor, 2nd. floor, and 3rd. floor).3- Between the two houses.4- Inside the opposite house (1st. floor, 2nd. floor and 3rd.floor) .Each sample was taken by three methods 0I) Membrane filter method at three levels .a- At 25 cm from the floor.b- at 150 cm f rom the f Loo r .c- At 275 cm f i-om the floor.from this work, it was found that the highest mean concentr-ation of airborne bacteria was present at the first level(in broiler houses 310 c.f.u./liter and in laying hen houses608 c.f.u./liter) and the lowest mean concentration was at.the s~cond level (in broiler houses was 220 c.f.u./liter andin laying hen houses was l.j•93 c.f.u./liter.11) Liquid Impinger using AII-Glass-Impinger.lII) Sedimentation method using t.hr-e e positions :-
