Abstract:
The present investigation was planned to study some hepatd,c function tests in normal as well as in fasciola infested sheep. The infested animals were confirmed by eitherP.lvI. examination or by faecal analysis. The serum glucose level showed a significant dec- rease in fasciola infested sheep.’rhe total serum. protein levels were not changed in fasciola infested animals.the serum albumin level was found to be a sensi- tive index for the liver damage, as it decreased signi- ficantly in all cases of hepatic lesions produced by Fasciola. The total serum globulins were significantly ele- vated in all cases infested with liver fluke. The albumin globulin ratio was significantly dec-reased in liver damaged by liver fluke infestation.
