Abstract:
The” poisonous plant It Sinapis arvensis 1t used in OU1”work was collected during March and April, 1977 from Gizaregion, Egypt.The total moisture and fat content of the differentparts of this plant were determined as 43.86,0.788 for see-ds, 31.23. 1.10 for flowers, 21.83, 0.85 for leaves. 31.63,0.65 tor stems and 32.63. 0.40 for roots.A prel~inary examination of the reection and the ac-tive comstituents of air dried seea, flowers. leaves, stemsand roots of this plant was carried out and indicate pres-ence of tannins, reducing substances and alkaloi& in diff-erent values in the different ports of plant. but tbsenceof resin in nIl parts of plant was detected.As well as the weight end percentage of crude residu-es extracted from the leaves, seeds or flowers are recor-ded before filtration. the filtrate is positively to 01-kaloidal and gluceidal su~est8nces at eacmv time of ex-traction.
