Abstract:
•- Baby hamster kidney cells were grown in suspension culturesusing Eagle’s medium and the same medium with and/or without some non defined protein components for the purpose ofminimising the presence of those non-defined ptotein supplements and its influ2- The effect of varying concentrations of bovine serum with and without amino acid mixture supplement, tryptic soy broth and proteose peptone were investigated.3- from an average starting cell count of about 0.5 x 106 cells/ml, using Eagle’s medium with different percentages of bovine serathe results achieved showed that an average high cell density of 1.87 x 106 cells per ml. was obtained on the 4th passagewhen using complete Eagle’s medium supplemented with 10%bovine serum.
