Abstract:
The changes of the blood ofguinea ’pigs wh.i.ch are widely used as experimental anjra.a].s for the diagnosisof tuberculosis infections were studied extensively ajmlng to find out the posibilities of using such changesfor the differentiation between the different types of B Three groups of guinea pigs of similar age, sex andweight were infected ’With a constant dose of an avian,a bovine and a human st and ard s tr ain s of TB ~, r eSPQOt;i.llQl,y !Another group served as non infected controls. The blood of ten animals from each group was collectedweekly and its picture was examined ~ In. the mean time the same ten animals were tested by the single comparativetuberculin test, killed after 72 hours and isolation of the tubercle bacilli from their lymph nodes near the siteof inJection was conductedThe haematological studies included the following eJeaminations: Blood cell count, hemogloQin estimation, paCked cell volume. sedimentation rate. differential leucocytic countand the granulogranuue of the polymorphonuclear neutrophilleucocytes!
