Abstract:
This work comprises the study of some bet-a-edren- ergic blockers (Inderal<BJ, TrnsieorCR) and Visken(R) ) on the renal blood flow in mongrel dogs. The selection of these drugs depends on the fact• that the first onewns devoid of intrinsic sympatho-mimetic activity whilethe other two posses such property.Estimation of renal blood flow W2,S carried out by a direct collection technique.I) Inderal ® W2S given in doses of 200 and 400”.mg as one i.v. shot. The smaller dose reduced the renalblood flow gradully for 40 minutes until it became 65 % of the control value. The larger dose produced sucheffect but in a lesser time 30 min. and then became 50% after 50 m,nutes from the administration of the drug andrema:’ YlE”Q 9,) till the end of the expez-Lmerrb , TheEJ’? dosesproduued fall in the blood pressure (B: P.) which DROPped to 70 % v£ the control value 2.fter 40 minutes in the smsller dose and 80 % nfter 30 minutes in the larger dose
