Abstract:
In this present study, the effect of cc14, piper~zine adipate, pyrantel tartrate and stibophen on sheep rumen mot- ility, ruminal gas fermentation and on some rumen microflorawere studied. 1- Effect on rumen motility a) Cc14: Intramuscular injection of oc14, causedreduction in the rate of ruminal contraction, and amplitude. b) Piperazine adipate: Intr~muscul~rd intrarum- inal administration of piperazine adipate, caused reductionin the rate of ruminal contraction ~nd slight in the anpli- tude. The reduction were greater following the intramuscu- lar injection.c) EYr:J.ntel tartra t.: Intramuscular and intraruminal administration of.pyrantel tartrate induced slowing in the rate of ruminal contraction and a decrease in the amplitude with more marRed effect than in case of cc14 and piperazine adipate. The intramution. d) Stibophen: Intramuscular injection of stibophen induced slight increase in the rate of ruminal contraction. II- Effect on ruminal gas fermentation: a) Oc14: Decreased the rate of ruminal gas fermet- ation by all doses used as compared with that o
