Abstract:
In the current study a Total number of 84 and 114ejaculates were collected from two Friesiam and Threea.buffalo bulls, bred ut Oaim Artificial Insemination centeover a period of one year. The artificial vagina was usedfor semen collection from both species of bulls. Reaction timeand semen characteristios including, volume, pH, mass activityindividual motility, live sperm porcent •• initial f.t”uctosecontent, sperm concentration, methylene blue reduction time, sperm abnormalities, sperm biometrics, and viability of semendiluted in egg ”’;vulk ci trate and s t ordd ! . .1n. a refrigerator at4-5QC were studied for each ejaculate. For estimation’offertility of the collected ejaculates 342 cows and 306 buff-aloes were inseminated with diluted semen. The number ofpregnancies diagnosed 60 days after first and second insemina-tions were used for calculating the fertility rate. Statisticalanalysis of the correlations between the various semen chara-cteristics and between the latters and fertility were perform-ed at the Statistical Institute for Studies and Research,CairoUniversity.
