Abstract:
The pelvic genitalia of 124 adult buffalo bulls (117 withmtact testes; 7 castrated) were randomly collected from Cairoabattoir over a period extending from March 1979 to February1980. The anims.ls with intact testes varied in age and body”eight after slaughter and evaceration. They comprised .38 bullsaged 2-3 years with aver-age’ body weight of 189.21 kg (Group I),It? bulls averaged 3-4 years with average body weight of 203.19kg (Group II) and 32 bulls over 4 years old wi th average bodyweigh-li uf 285.75 kg (Group Ill) • CrafJtrated animals were all 3-4years old and had an average body weight of 198.57 kg.The accessory glandS of all animals were studied for weight,dimensions, histological structure. In addition, ce r+atn bio••chemical aspects (% moisture, % ash, % organic matter, fructosand citric acid concentration and content were also inv-estigateLThe results were statistically analysed to reveal the affectsof age and season on the various parameters studied..
