Abstract:
In the present investigation, attention was directed to identify gonadotrophs present in the pituitaries of buffaloesImmunofluorescent technique was used to localize the folliculotrophs and lut eotrophs. The morphological app-earance was further identified by restaining with aldehyde fuchsin with the special counter stain of Halmi. The concentration of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) were determined at diff erent st ages of ovarian activity during the estrousoycle of the bUffaloas and in those affected with ovarianinactivity. FSH and LH present. in the buffalo pituitaries were assessed by using an immunoassay _method- dependingon a haemoagglutination inhioition techniq\l•~’ For thispurpose, FSH end LH were prepared from pituitaries obta- ained from mat:.U’e feJlale buffaloen •. ’I’he potency ofthe prepared bu.ff alo FHH was 18.40 i. u. per mg. The potency of LH was 1.10 L, U •. per mg; These two hormoneswere used for immunofluorescent localization of the respective
