Abstract:
Studies on the carrier state of goats expos d to foot-and-mouth diE!ease virus were investigated.In this study, non-immunized, recovered and vacc,goats were expos ed to experimental infection ,goats of indigenous breeds were divided into tl~ee of four animals. Eact group wae subdividedinto two subgroups each of two goats. Every subgroup wasinoculated with 107 /ml ’ID50 of PMDV strain (°1/2/72 Egypt). One of the subgroups was inoculated intraderrno-and the other intranasally with the same dose ofvirus. One steer of native breed was also housed in con- tact with infected ncn-d.mmund.z e d goats during theviraemic stage.Samples were obtained from the three infactedgoats as well as from the contact steer were .
