Studies of Some Viral Agents Affectiong The Skin of Bovines (POX Virus in Buffaloes)

POX infection among buffaLo in lower Egypt was studied and the viral agent causing this ayndr-om was isolated from skli1 lesions of Giseased animals in Monofeya Province. MOre than 60 samples were examined and the isoleted virus was designated A/781.The virus isolate desi6nated as A/781 replicated on c:1oriOallantoic membrane producing pock lesions which differed from those of cowpox ”Brighton” and vaccinia ”Lister ” viruses in shape, colour cnd size.
